The Stephen Ministry is a distinctively one-to-one ministry of Christian care-giving for those experiencing any number of life-hurts and human problems.
A Stephen Minister is a Christian who has been called by God and has received special training as a Care-Giver in a person's life.
The Stephen Ministry training is open to interested men and women who wish to be equipped in caring for the many needs in our congregation and community. The 50 hours of training include such topics as: listening skill development, feelings, communication, assertiveness training, confidentiality, crisis theory and intervention, relationship building, the use of prayer and the Bible, grief, divorce recovery, and depression.
The Stephen Minister is committed to give regular and dependable support and encouragement to their Care Receivers and to have regular supervision under the guidance of trained Stephen Leaders. They are also committed to preserving the confidential nature of the caring relationship.
